Colonsay’S 10th ANNUAL
Spring Festival 2020
I am afraid that I am writing with the inevitable news that the
2020 Spring Festival has been cancelled.
Following the recent changes in Government approach and advice, it has become clear that trying to run the event whilst keeping you our visitors, the experts and the local community safe, was not going to be possible.
A huge disappointment, as it was to be a celebration of 10 years of the festival; but I guess we must focus on short pain for long term gain.
I was really proud and inspired by the fantastic range of events and activities that we had available and feel pretty miserable that it won’t be possible to deliver it to you this year.
I will be working on a very similar looking programme for 2021,
so get the dates in your diary!!
26th April to 16th May 2021
In the meantime, I thank you all for supporting the festival thus far, and urge you to all keep safe and well.
Colonsay Spring Festival offers a fantastic mix of nature, art, foraging, craft and heritage. We want visitors and locals alike to enjoy this magical season and learn more about the rich natural heritage of the island. The festival is held across three weeks and, with a huge variety of events on offer, there is something for everyone!
It’s a great way to get to know the island, with fantastic tutors and walk leaders lined up, from RSPB staff to artists, textile designers and makers, plant enthusiasts and local historians and archaeologists.
I have left the 2020 programme here, so you can get a feel of the sort of things that will be going on in 2021
It can be downloaded & printed from the link below, or viewed in our festival calendar on the 'What's on' page.
The 2021 programme will hopefully be finalsied later this year.
